Turn Off Auto Grid?

I've had CS for awhile, but I've finally ginned up the nerve to dig into it. However, I can't seem to figure out how to turn off the auto grid. I know how to get rid of it on each individual image, and I've nothing against grids, but I'd rather they not pop up automatically. :rolleyes:

Try this: View>Show>Grid Keyboard command is ctrl+' (apostrophe) Then uncheck it.

That's one of the things that annoys alot of people... yet so many people I know haven't asked how to get rid of it like you did... funny.
