Assigning keywords to .png files in Bridge (Mac)

I just started creating keywords in Adobe Bridge for Mac (like the Organizer in Windows). Is there a way to assign keywords to .png files? When I try, I get the error message that the file cannot store XMP metadata. I do not have this problem with .jpg files.

I'm pretty sure that there isn't a way to do that :(

If its for your scrapbooking kits then I keep mine in iPhoto (in a separate iPhoto library)

What great news! I had always wondered about creating a new library in iPhoto but didn't know it could be done. With nearly 17,000 photos in the library, I didn't want to add scrapbooking kits, too. But now that you have given me the idea, I found the directions to set up a new library and am about to do it. I hope it won't be too difficult to switch back and forth between libraries. Thank you very much for answering my question!

Hi Teonei ...

So glad that you found it a help ... switching libraries is so easy :). You just click on iPhotoBuddy and choose you library ... its as simple as that. I have iPhotoBuddy in the dock and alwasy use it to access iPhoto :)

I start two new libraries each year, one for Holidays and the other General. Plus I have individual libraries for Scrapbooking, Baby Albums, Wedding Albums ... and many many more.

It certainly makes backing up easier as each library is much smaller AND once the current years Holiday & General libraries are finished and new ones created they don't need backing up again :)

Hi ...

No I don't bother to do that ... I tend to create new albums for each kit and store them that way :)
