Was this an online offer or also available in the stores? I use a Mac so 5.0 won't work for me anyway, but we have a Staples within a couple of miles from us so that would be a good deal for my friends who have PCs.

This was only an online offer. I called the Staple store here where I live and it was $99 with no rebates of any kind on it. So I quickly got online and got it ordered.
