Hi,
I have downloaded PSE5 on my computer and when I go into the "create" toolbar and pick any of the headings, "photo layout", " album pages" etc the correct window comes up, but the icons on the left in the layout and theme boxes are tiny so I cannot see what it is until I actually click on it and see it on the right hand side.
I have tried finding something to help but nothing is said about the actual screen just about how to use the screen so I am lost. Does anyone know what I am going on about and if so how I may fix it.
Thanks for your time
Sam
PS this happens on both Edit and Organiser. As suggested by Priss (on another thread) I have tried to slide the button that changes the photo sizes but it doesnt effect the PSE5 icons

I'm trying--but I can't make what you're describing happen. So let's take a look for a minute at something else it could be. It could be over all screen resolution settings on your computer. (Generally the problem is that the screen is NOT displaying everything, rather than it being too small)
Please check this and then --come right back to this thread and answer
----What is your screen resolution's current settings.

Close or minimize Photoshop so you can see the desktop screen
RIGHT CLICK on your screen where there are no icons (the open desktop)
go to PROPERTIES
go to Settings tab
Tell me what numbers are showing below the words Screen Resolution.

The reason I need to know this is that that Create window in Organizer is a very large dialog box, and should fill the entire screen and be fully visibile at a resolution setting of 1028X760 (or such!!)

Hi Priss,
I have checked out my resolution setting and it is on "more - 1042 by 768 pixels" and the create screen in PSE5 is a large screen when it comes up, full height and about 2/3rds across...I think this problem is going to keep you up at night...sorry...but thanks for your time, what do you suggest know???

Priss, I have just been trying to do my first page and in editor I went over to the right on "Artwork" and down comes "backgrds, frms, graphics, shpes, all" then the pictures are below. Well the only one showing any pictures is "shapes" all the others have the boxes and the words but no picture at all!!! Is this also to do with my first problem or is this another doosey!!!

Ok let's look at the ARtwork and Effects Palette (new to V5)
When you click on the MIDDLE icon there, the one that looks like four circles (filters, effects and layer styles) you have a fly out option button at the top right of the palette that says "more" .

Click that, and have it show you LARGE thumbnail view.

Click on each of the buttons in that HUGE artwork and effects palette (frames, bkgr, theme, etc, --and do the same thing--check that the MORE options are set to your large thumbnail setting). This is a setting thing, I think, and not a problem.

But the way the program is filling your screen at the 1042 by 768px resolution still doesn't seem correct to me. Be sure that you can NOT "stretch" the window by dragging it by the bottom right corner---and if you cannot then it is in the maximized view and is as large as it can be. If you CAN change the size that way, then push the middle buton in the ABSOLUTE TOP right corner, just to the left of the X and see if it goes full screen.

Good! That's a last resort--but it worked for you. There must have been something go on when you first put the program in that glitched those features. Weird! Sometimes we'll get a sloppy/or corrupted install if anti-virus software is not turned off before install, or if other programs are running.

But you're all set now--and so jump right in and have some fun! Thank you for letting me know--this one's really been gnawing on me!
