Collections or Catalogs?

In reading this particular forum, it seems as though everyone uses the word "catalog" rather than "collections." Is a catalog one and the same as a collection? What's the difference between collections and collections groups? Thanks in advance for any clarifications received.

Hi Chris-

No, catalogs and collections are different. All your photos are in a catalog, and then you can group them in collections. For example, if I'm working on a family album, I might go through my catalog and mark the ones I want for this album by putting them in a collection called "family album." You can then just view (and order) the photos in the family album collection. Photos can be in more than one collection.
