OK here's my question. I have a couple great photos of some shabby white barn walls. The paint is pealing and it's all weathered. I want to put an American Flag photo over it and make it look like it's also painted on.
Does this make any since??? hehehe
I've tried doing it by using the displacement but it's not exactly what i want.
Thanks
Laura

If you have Photoshop, try reducing the opacity of the flag and use the blending modes, try "soft light," "overlay," etc.

Hi Laura

Not sure what you are trying to achieve as the Displacement Map tool is specifically designed to create a painted on look. Is it that the flag isn't appearing on the peeling off bits?

hi Laura ...

The displacement map technique really is the best thing for this effect as you then get it following the contours of the barn wall.

If you take a look you will see that the March Premier newsletter had a great Video Tutorial on using Displacement Maps ... that should help you with it :)
