this darn organizer...

I have been on this darn computer all day trying to organize and re-organize.

This is how I am organizing my stuff...not sure if it's the right way, but it's what I'm doing...ANY ADVICE WILL BE HELPFUL...

Catalog 1: PHOTOS
then I have tags for each thing (1st bath, christmas, b-day party, etc)

Catalog 2: SCRAPBOOK STUFF
then I have tags that are titled : Spring Blossom Kit (designer name)

Do any of you have catalogs for EVERY kit you download? It seems this may be easier, but who am I to know better...

I hope that I am doing this right. I just figured out that you can have more than 1 catalog...go figure!

OH...one more thing. Can you transfer items from one catalog? I can't find out how to do this in the dummies book I have...

You can use 2 catalogs if you want. The only reason I don't recommend doing so is that you can't just move things between catalogs if you accidentally save into the wrong catalog - and it can happen. Also, you can't search both catalogs at once.

Just make sure you have the right catalog open in the organizer before saving your layouts.

Tag however makes the most sense to you.

Hi I have started to tag each kit seperately and then break it down into tags such as-ribbons/buttons/flowers/embellishments/BG papers/etc... This way I can use a kit specifically or cross over all scrapbook stuff which I do often...the more you break it down the easier it will be later...remember you can have more than 1 tag per image....try not to make this iinto a chore, rather enjoy the time to see everything you have collected...REMEMBER SCRAPBOOKING (whether paper or digital) IS AS MUCH ABOUT YOUR COLLECTION AS IT IS ABOUT THE MEMORIES YOU CREATE!!! :-)
