I have Photoshop Elements 4 and when I try to put a photo in one of the squares it's enormous!!! How do I know what size to make the photo to fit in the square???? I'm not very experienced at photoshop elements as yet and I'm sure struggling. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks a bunch.

You need to resize the photo before dragging it into your square. I usually reduce mine to 5x5 or guess at a size close to the area I'm putting it into and then drag it in. Resize further using Control+T to free transform. Hold down the shift key while resizing to make sure you resize your image without distorting it.

For my layout I decided to use some photos that I took whilst we were away in York. The Castle Museum is a place I have visited many times ... and each time go there I find lots more things to see :)

Could I get the e-mail for the June 11 "Tip of the Week"? I did not receive this one. I usually get the e-mails, but this is the second one that didn't come through.
Thanks for your help. :)

I've just uploaded my template layout for this week. We enjoyed a new experience and I took quite a few pictures so I thought I would focus on them.

By gosh this digi-scrapping is getting easier :) Once I had chosen my photos, this took no time at all. I did a "photo shoot" (http://www.scrappersguide.com/forums/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=11024&cat=500&ppuser=938) of Gypsy.
Criticism welcome.

Here http://www.scrappersguide.com/forums/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=11026&page=0 is my take on this week's template. This one just about put itself together! I saw the papers on Scrapflair and thought of the photos I'd taken on Maui....and there was the LO.

I visited the local Lotus Garden with my Red Hat Group. Here (http://www.scrappersguide.com/forums/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=11028&cat=780) is my layout. I didn't have much journaling so used a quote instead.

Here is my submission for the 6-11 Template. Did lots of experimenting with this layout. Wanted to make my own items. Someday I would like to be able to make my own kits along with the elements. Practice - practice I guess!

The last week has been a whirl wind for me and I've had a hard time keeping up with everyone posts, and having a hard time to get motivated to work on my own. Was doing a check to see if I could get inspired and have to say I am amazed with everyone LO's they are all wonderful.
Event happenings, my third grandchild was born on June 4, a little boy, Max. Will not get to see him for a long time as he was born in Germany, SS is stationed there and still waiting for photo's. Had to have the vet in and do emergency surgery on one of my baby calves ( snicker doodle ), some how she managed to slice herself open, But last night took the cake. During bingo we were ask to move quickly to the front of the firehall. Funnel clouds were spotted and reports of tornado touch downs in other surrounding areas had been reported. Cell phone wasn't working well, the not knowing where my son was horrible, couldn't get through to my SD to see if they were okay, we had heard the small town 5 miles from her was wiped out, luckily it wasn't true, just a lot of trees down from high winds. Needless to say we are all ok and the damage from the storm wasn't as bad as reported. To top the night off when I was finally able to get home, had to go out in the thunderstorm to look for snickerdoodle, she had managed to escape from her nice warm dry pen and her mom wasn't happy, nor was my husband and I.
Life is Grand and the sun is shing today and I'm off to see what the day brings. Hugs to all. Connie

Thanks Nancy for helping with my sizing of the photos --- now I have another problem!!!! When typing in my journaling all I have is upper case no matter what font I use --- I don't have the caps lock on and I've tried typing in Word and I don't have that problem there. I tried using the re-setting default button at the top of the tool bar but that option is greyed out no matter which tool I choose??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again.

It sounds like it is time to reset your preferences: Exit the editor; as you start the Editor again, press and hold ctrl-alt-shift; you should get a dialog asking if you want to delete your preferences (or something like that); click yes/okay. If you didn't get the dialog, you weren't fast enough, so try again.

Here is my template layout. I love this template and how it lends itself to journaling options. I just got in some new photos from our celebration for Mom and wanted to do some quick pages to include in her album. This is the left page of a two page spread. Here I am focusing on the red hat and the purples and on the other page I have everyone else enjoying the moment with the 8 baskets we gathered to focus on Mom's life.
They were missionaries in Japan for 27 years, then went on to the Carribean for the several years before moving to El Paso where they finished out their missionary career. Though most of their lives were spent outside of Texas, Mom is a Texan through and through. It was such fun focusing on special topics of her 80yrs. of life.
I've been pre-occupied with my new Grandbaby and away visiting her that I forgot to post back here and I have missed roaming through the forums and commenting on everyone's layouts. I sure have enjoyed glancing at them though and I will be back in to comment. Gotta get caught up!

Well I'm running late posting this week but HERE (http://www.scrappersguide.com/forums/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=11095&cat=780) is my layout using Sharon's wonderful template. It showcases a few of my flowers in my garden and yes, contrary to popular belief, I do leave the computer from time to time to do some gardening. :D

When Linda asked me to be on the Creative Team and explained it would involve templates I thought "you've got to be kidding" - I was pretty outspoken against them early on. I guess Linda had better insight into my scrapping than I did. I am becoming a fast and firm believer and find they are quite useful.

:D Templates are sensational. What a concept. The page goes so quickly allowing you time to focus on some other creative area. In this one I put together the lesson on stained glass windows with what I've learned about templates. What fun! I can't wait to try something else. Here's my picture...
