Could we have a forum for Premier Subscribers to discuss the tutorials?

I'm glad you all are so enthusiastic about Premier! :)
Since Premier information involves membership, I'm not sure that the public forum would be the best place to discuss the techniques, but it would be a GREAT place to show off your results!
I've wondered, sometimes, whether anyone is actually DOING what I teach in Premier, because I get so few emails with pages showing the technique I taught. :(
SO . . . what if we were to set up a gallery JUST FOR PREMIER MEMBERS to show off their work using the current month's techniques? We might even have some contests at some point . . . but do give us some time to get acclimated first. The Forum is barely over a week old! ;) Maybe after the first of the year?
And, by the way, if you ever don't understand ANYTHING I teach in Premier, just send me an email at Linda@scrappersguide.com, and Jan will forward it on to me, so I help you out.
Thanks, again, for your encouragement to me personally. I'm working on the next Premier right now, and wait till you see October's kit. Oh, my! It is GORGEOUS!

Linda- now your email box is going to be overflowing! I always see the part about emailing you the designs we make, but I have always figured that a lot of people are doing that, and you don't REALLy want to see them. I'm sure there are others who are shy, but now...:)

I think your premier is great and there are a lot of us using the techniques. The monthly letter is what made me to subscribe to this site in the first place:) It would be really nice to discuss these techniques, because they are much more indepth, and the bonuses are really great. Maybe if we discussed a little bit on this site, people would be more likely to sign up for the premier membership to find out what we're raving about....

I think the premier stuff is great. For me, it is finding time to do it. I've been working on an album for a trip I took a couple of years ago, and I've just had an idea on how to use the metal charms... Hmmm... I'm about 1/3 the way through my album, and the charms would really spice up the pages.
BTW, I think the kit that came with the last issue was great. But, I homeschool, so I haven't figured out how to use it, yet... Although, my daughter did go to preschool the year my boys were born, so I might have a couple of pictures I could use it for...
So many ideas, so little time.

Like Kay, I just assumed that you were overloaded with e-mails. Shame on me.. lol. Please, please know... your tuts are superb.. your videos the best I have ever seen, and your generosity is more than appreciated! THANK YOU for all your hard work.. for your dedication to your subscribers and members, and for this site... this has been wonderful to share with other ladies our ideas, LO's, and just getting to know one another!
I love the idea of having a Premier Member gallery. But then I love everything you and your team are doing for us to make this the best ever digital scrapping experience!!
Thanks again, Linda!

-TrishHi Troush! I think that's great that you are homeschooling. I homeschooled my 3 sons... who are all grown now. I love this school kit and can't wait to use it for my grandson's pre-K LO! I may just have to start on that today!.. lol! Have you thought about taking pics of your children while you're homeschooling? Maybe while they are reading, studying, or perhaps scan some of their work, use it with a pic and the kit. I am not sure the ages of your children, but wouldn't it be great to scan some of their first attempts at writing and take a pic as well. Also, you could get some pics of your kids while on field trips. I know we had a group of families that we would get together with once a week for a field trip/physical training time. Those would make some great pics and LO's too. You could even make a charm that says "home" to go along with the school charm. Also, good luck on your album you are making of your trip. I hope you'll post some of your LO's in the gallery!
Have a great day troush!

Linda,
Thanks. My daughter is 6, and her brothers are 2. We just do a "little preschool" with the boys, and she is in first grade. I never think about getting my camera out for the day to shoot things - I'll try to do that this week, my daughter loves having her picture taken (if you can't tell from my gallery). I'm hoping to do more field trips this year (it would have been too much last year).
Actually, with the nice deep reds in the school days kit, I was thinking about doing a Christmas page or two. ;)
Thanks for the encouragement.

Trish, you do have your hands full! I remember those days all too well. There were times when my boys wanted to do nothing but play ... lol ... I am sure it's a good thing I was not scrapping back then or I would have wanted to "play" as well.
That's a great idea, to use the reds in some Christmas LO's. Even the blue would be pretty with additional shades added. I have a Christmas kit here that I made using blues and snowflakes. One of my favs! :)
Have a wonderful day, Trish!
Hugs.. Linda.. :)

Linda,
I have been making pages using something from every Premier technique, but like Kay I figured you were getting scads of pages sent to you.
Also I only have dial up available in my area, so mine take some time to upload.
I promise to send something soon,

I can testify the Linda really does want to see our versions of the pages she presents in the Premier videos each month. I sent one to her (it was in February I believe but don't quote me?!) and she replied and posted my version on the next month's newsletter. I was astounded I got a personal reply because I thought she'd be too busy. That's what makes this so great. We're all friends here and the encouragement can, uh, truthfully be dangerous. Yup, DANGEROUS! Dangerous because it will just encourage us to spend even MORE time doing what we love - digital scrapbooking.

I know a lot of us have been practicing and loving your wonderful techniques you send in the newsletter, just was a little shy to send them to you, but now! A gallery would be great. Having this wonderful forum has been great for learning and sharing, it was a wonderful idea. I think it's great what you are doing with your teaching techniques and this website. I wish you nothing but the best success and from the looks of it, you are well on your way. I am so glad I am here in the beginning of this idea, it's going to be huge! All the best,

I can also attest to it. I sent one in July and it was used in the August newsletter. She is like the school teacher who is proud of her students and wants to show off their work. :)
Linda,
I love the Premire Newsletters and eagerly await them each month. I always watch the videos several times. Even if I don't do the project in that month, I always know where to find the instructions when I do need them. Just recently did a collage using the layer masking technique from last spring and only yesterday reviewed the elegant embossing technique from forever ago.
Would love to see a Premire Gallery.

I really like the idea of a dedicated premier gallery and/or forum. It would be nice to see how everyone else approaches the tutorials. I really enjoy them because not only do I learn a new technique, but it gives me "homework". As a beginner I get frustrated sometimes just staring at a bunch of photos and not knowing where to begin.

I know that Linda has got to be up to her armpits in all she is trying to accomplish. We just to have be a little patience until she gets the work load down around her ankles, we can’t have her drowning in work, we really need to have her around here to help all of us.
When I first started I subscribed to Linda’s Premier membership and really love it, it’s also time to renew my subscription, which I need to do soon, don’t want to miss out on anything.
I have only sent Linda one of the projects that I did using her Premier issues. I loved the masking technique, and I sent her a layout that I did with it. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I received an e-mail from her asking if she could premier it in the next news letter. What a compliment, especially coming from Linda, needless to say I was on cloud 10 (not just 9) for several days.
I have posted it in my gallery http://www.scrappersguide.com/forums/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=1267&cat=500&ppuser=1373

I would also love to see a gallery and forum. But I also know "Good things come to he who waits" Patience.....Until the gallery starts I will be posting my layout in the main gallery and admire all the beautiful layouts from everyone else. I really enjoy coming into the forums and reading what people say and picking up on all the good hints and information on different programs and things. Linda I just want to say a BIG THANKYOU for all your hard work and giving me something that I really enjoy doing as you make it a lot easier for me.....Gayle:D

But, I can't thank you enough Linda, for this forum. I have learned so much, just reading all the forums. I can't add tons to what is said, because most of it just blows me away. I had NO IDEA what all could be done!

Wow! It's here! I haven't been able to access it yet, but our pleas have been heard and it looks like a "Subscribers Only" forum is about to get up and running!
It's Here! My passwords aren't working though, keep getting "incorrect password" message. Which password is correct, the Premier membership or the Forum? Neither one is working.

Did you use the password that Linda gives you once you log on as a premier member where you usually do to get the monthy goodies. I didn't have any problems.
Robyn,
That's the one I used and it's not working. I logged on here first and tried to log in from here. Do I need to go to the Premier Newsletter page first? I'll try again later.

I'm a Premier member trying to catch up on the techniques and make things in between everything else that pulls my time and attention away. I've been a member since November and enjoy seeing other members creations and the exchange gallery. However, I am having a problem accessing the archived posts/months. The Premier newsletter states that,
"We'll be archiving each month's forums, and you'll be able to access all prior forums using the current month's password."
When I go to the archived area for previous months, I am unable to access them without digging out that month's newsletter with that month's password. Is that what is meant by 'current month's password'?
Thank you in advance for your help.

i find it will not let me in either this months or the others more than once after i use the password once it just keeps asking for the passwordand will not let me in.

I'm having the same problem as some others. It accepts 'this month's password' for the current month only. For any of the previous month's, it says that the password is incorrect. Is it working for some???
Each month the password changes, and you have to use the password for whatever month you're trying to access. Right now, the archived Premier forums include October, November and December, so you'll need to use the passwords for those months, which you can find in your newsletters from those months.
You have downloaded your newsletter, and you've saved them in a file on your computer, right?
We recommend that all our Premier subscribers create a master file for Scrapper's Guide, then create a new file for each month's downloads, including the newsletter PDF, the video, the kit and all the other goodies. That way, you'll have everything you need if you should want to refer back to anything.
Be sure to keep your Scrapper's Guide file on your C Drive, in your My Documents or your My Pictures files so they won't bog down your computer. Leaving them on your desktop will slow things down considerably.
And just to be safe, it's also a good idea to back up your Scrapper's Guide files to a CD, DVD or external hard drive, so you'll always have your tools, just in case of a hard drive failure or other emergency!
Any other questions, feel free to email me!
Thanks,
sueboop

Jan, that does not work for me. I have been a member of Premier since the end of August. It doesn't matter if I use the current password to open the archives which is what I thought Linda had said or if I use the original password for that particular month, it still will not open the archive.

We're working on it.... and I'll post a note here when the issue has been sorted out. Thanks for the heads-up! As administrators, we get into the Premier area without having to input a password, so the only way we know there's a glitch is by hearing from you, so now we have. And thanks for the heads-up!
