Before my organizer gets to fully loaded with pics, I wanted to organize and stay ahead of it all. Just got a new computer so things are still somewhat tidy...anyhow, I was dragging pics into the OTHER folder, (mistake #1) but didnt like them there. I then proceeded to go ahead and tag them and I couldnt get that to work. I think my next step was to delete them out of the folder and I ended up with a red little square with a tear diagonally on each of the pics I had in that folder. Now when I click on any other picture, it puts that delete red little icon on each pic I open. Without deleting them off my drive, can I undo what I have in the organizer and start from scratch? As you can see, I am a bit rusty with this organizing stuff. I watched a tutorial and thought I can do this....yea right.......
I just checked them again, and they are in EVERY folder and most all pics have that red little icon on it....oh what have I done?? How can I get rid of that?
Thanx much for listening and your help

Hi, and glad you have asked for help before doing another thing! The torn red icon means there has been a disconnected link between the organizer and the image. You tagged them in one folder then deleted them from that folder in the Windows file structure. Any moving should be done from the organizer itself so that they will not become disconnected. You can reconnect them by choosing File>Reconnect. This means you point the thumbnail image in the organizer to the file where the images are located.
If there are a lot of images you may just wish to remove the disconnected images from the organizer (NOT delete them from the drive) and retag them in the permanent location. To remove them from the organizer, select them all and right click where you will see the choice of removing from the organizer. It will then also offer you the option to remove them from the hard drive. Because the images are already removed from that file, this step isn't necessary.
If you have any further questions, post them here.

Thank you so much for your reply. I did try to delete them but it was from within the organizer..but anyways, I went ahead and deleted them from the catalog and will start fresh.
