I have a problem. When I use my move tool, I can't bump one pixel at a time with my arrow keys the way I did in PSE, instead I have to hold down my moudr and move my photo, object, etc manually. Any ideas how I can move in tiny increments without doing it manually? Thanks. Rachel

It seems to be working on mine (CS2). Do you have to Move tool as the active tool? Did you try to Reset the move tool? With the move tool active click the little pop up next to the move tool in the bar across the top, then click the right arrow in the window that comes up and go down to where it says Reset Tool. Maybe that will make it work?

Hi Rachel ...

Make sure that you are on the right layer too ... :)

It should work just fine ... if not then try a reset and hopefully that will sort it out ..

I'm pretty sure I'm on the right layer because I can move my picture with the move tool and the mouse. I tried re-setting the tool and I still can't bump one pixel at a time. Grrrr.

Is your caps lock on or anything like that?

No, I just checked and Caps Lock is not on. Now my move tool doesn't show a bounding box anymore. I think this program is possessed.

I just realized I also can't increase/decrease my brush size with my bracket tools either. Could there be something in my pre-sets that isn't letting me have access to these short-cuts? Can anyone tell me how to get there to check? Thanks for all the help so far. I really appreciate all your input. Rachel

Hi Rachel ...

It sounds like it is time to reset the prefs file ... hopefully that will sort it out.

To do that close down Elements then click on the Editor start up icon and quickly hold down the Control, Alt and Shift keys (Mac users: Command, Option and Shift). Continue to hold down all three keys until you get a screen asking if you want to delete Settings ... just say Yes. You do have to be quick holding down the keys so if you have problems with it try holding down the keys with one hand before you click on the icon :)

Hope that it works OK for you ..

Hi Wendy

I have CS2. When I tried holding down the keys you suggested, I still got to the same screen that opens every time I open Photoshop. I did try going under Edit - Preferences - Display and cursers and chose Precise, but that still didn't resolve the problem. Is there a different screen in Photoshop that I'm not trying? Thanks for all your help! Rachel

Hi Rachel ...

Sounds like you are maybe not fast enough on the keys ..

Close down CS2
then hold down the Control, Alt and Shift keys
keep holding them down with one hand and open CS2
Keep on holding those three keys down and you should get the box asking if you wish to delete the settings.

Photoshop & Elements are prone to corruption creeping into the prefs file and when that happens it does very strange things ..

Try again ... and let me know how you go on :)

Hi Wendy

I got to the window and hit yes but I still have the problem. I'm going to try and contact Adobe and see if they have any ideas. Thanks so much for all your time. Rachel
