Can someone tell me how to make one part of a brush one color and the other part another...in other words, I want to use two colors on one brush.

This probably isn't want you are looking for...but Toggel your brush palette open (or go to Windows>Brushes)>select color dymantics. You might want to up the saturation and hue and play with the other options there.

Hi ...
... and welcpme to Scrapper Guide :)
If you mean that you want one side of the brush to be one colour and the other side another colour then I am afraid that you can't do that.

I would first choose the two colors and open a new file. Apply the brush (it will have the foreground color). Now your brush is in one color. Click D so the second color becomes the foreground color. Then duplicate the layer (ctrl+J) and change the blending mode (it's on the layers pallette menu) to "Color". Grab a hard brush and paint with the second color in the areas you desire. Hope that is what you are looking for.

Scoborn, do as dmrdm said. The settings that I use are Shape Dynamics,Dual Brush and Color Dynamics.Just play around with all the settings. Choose your colors the regular way.You can come up with intersting patterns doing this. This is how it works in CS3 and welcome to Scrapper Guide.

Scoborn, as far as I can tell, what dmrdm recommends can't be done if you have PSE.

You're right--brush dynamics are in Photoshop CS.
