View Full Version : All fonts are unreadably small

Alright, I'm using CS2, and whenever I'm working on a project, it works fine, except for the type-tool.
If, say, I'm working on a 1500x1500 pixel picture and I use type-tool to set a square to write in, the font sizes are too small to be readable, or, often, even visible. I set the font size to max (1296, I think?) and I can barely see the words. This didn't happen before, and whenever I import something I made with words before, the font sizes are set in the tens of thousands... it often tell me that they are set too large and automatically makes them only the max size instead. Is there a fix for this? I can't use type tool at all until it's fixed.
Thanks so much!

Change your Text tool to Points - put in pt after the number, I think. The other thing - in Elements if you click on the Text tool icon on the left of the option bar a little menu will drop down - choose "Reset Tool" and see if that doesn't help.

Hi Stephen ...

Something else to check is the resolution of the image ... that can do strange things to text. :)

And don't forget to zoom in --to the area where you are setting up the type. Sometimes on a high-resolution layout, to be able to see the type clearly you have to make it so large that it ruins your layout. So zoom in, keep the font-point what will be readable when printed (14-18pt for a large amount of journaling) and save the big stuff for titling.
