Can someone please tell me how I can get the printer to print the layouts the way I see them (colors) on my monitor?

The first step is to calibrate your monitor. Search for calibrate monitor at google - you will find plenty of information. If you have adobe gamma on your computer, start with that. If you don't, search on adobe's site - they have it there.

Hi ...
The best set of instructions I have found for calibrating your monitor using Adobe Gamma is this one ... it walks you though the whole thing :)

I think that if it's an LCD monitor, you cant' use Adobe Gamma.

Yes Colin does explain that ... however I know that some people have actually used it with reasonable results :)

Thank you Wendy, Sonita, and troush for your help. I will use the information. It has been very disheartening to create a "nice" LO only to have it print out badly.

Oh, another thought - forgot to let you know I'm using Elements 4 (it's still somewhat new to me, and just purchased Adobe Photoshop CS3. I think I'm over my head, but still look forward to having fun with it. I bought the Classroom in a Book for it so. . .!
