View Full Version : Tip of the Week - A Way With Words
Let's see your pages with word art! I have so much fun with it. It can get to be quite a habit. And a creative way to make a page layout. You can also use this for creating cards as well.
And when you're shooting photos, remember when you're composing your shots to factor in a little extra space so you can add words later if you want to.
For instance, if I see a great bunch of flowers, I'll take a close-up, and then I'll pull back and shoot again with lots pf space around the flowers so that if I want to later, I can apply this burn technique and add words.
Give it a try!
And post links to your Gallery images here.

Here's Mine (http://www.scrappersguide.com/forums/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=12981&cat=500&ppuser=4) I loved the way the early morning shadows played with the pool area at the r.v. resort where we are staying. I love to swim, and until I get the cast off my foot and an okay from the doctor, the spa and the pool's just to take pictures of! Enjoyed this good way to not only cover up an uninteresting and distracting part of the photo, but also to play with the word art to be used in its place. Thanks Jan.
AND! When I do finally get in the water--I'll shoot this picture so that it makes it look like the dolphins are jumping out of the desert!!!
Enjoy!

Jan's tip helped add some style to my apple picture, I think. After the millions of apples we've had from our two trees this year, I needed that! Thanks Jan.

I've pretty much cheated with my word art, because it isn't mine, it's from the Simply Moments CD by Michelle Shevfeland, however, it is so appropriate to my photo, as you will see. I tried looking up quotes but this one just seemed to be the best. Here (http://www.scrappersguide.com/forums/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=12983&cat=833) is my layout for the tip of the week.

HERE (http://www.scrappersguide.com/forums/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=13017) is my entry. I LOVE this gorgeous tiger because he just exudes attitude so this was a perfect technique to use on on him.

I think you'll find our How to Guides really helpful in posting to the gallery and then posting your URL back here to the boards, Alberta Rose. Take a peek right here:

Jan, that is a great tip. I'm going to try it out with the leaves that are on my deck. The colors of the leaves are fabulous but if I back out of the leaves I will get the great contrast of the deck. & a great place to put my word art. fun
