I'd like to make a calendar for my parents using digital scrapbooking as a Christmas gift. In the past I have cut and pasted pictures onto premade calendars and then placed them in a scrapbook once the year was through. I'm having trouble finding double sided paper large enough and/or software to ease the task. Any suggestions?

Kimmer,
Some of the sites have "premade" ones, where you drop the photos in the slots. I've done it at this (http://www.yorkphoto.com) site a couple of times - and the in-laws always loved them. I don't know of any others that let you design the pages yourself.
Kinko's may do it. If you design the pages, save as jpegs, and then bring them in. You might have to ask what sizes. I know several years ago I did that with just pictures, but it wouldn't matter if it was just pictures, or layouts. It seems to me they were 8.5 x 11 calendars.

For years I made calendars with using CalendarMaker. It is a great program that "remembers" birthdays, holidays and other events perpetually. But it is not avail. for Windows--just Macs. I only printed the calendar, but it seems like I could have added pic layouts. They just came out with an upgrade for the newer operating systems, but I haven't gotten it. Of course, it is a program to buy and I don't know how much it is.
ScrapGirls has several template options like these:
ScrapSimple Digital Layout Templates - Calendar: Clipboard Perpetual $8.99 & ScrapSimple Digital Layout Templates - Calendar: Great 2008 $8.99. They often have discount sales.
Once you do figure out your design, you may consider printing at Costco. You can print a 12x18" photo for $3.00. I'm unaware of a double-sided option. Using PSE 5.0, I have printed 6-6x6" pages for the $3.00 + tax. It makes putting together a 6x6" album affordable. I have also printed 12x12 pages w/ two 6x6 pages to use up the extra space. It's nice to just e-mail my pics to them, too. They have to be .jpeg files so after I create them, I just resave them as .jpegs to send.
I hope this info. is helpful.
This talented lady is giving away a nice set of calendar/planner templates on her blog. She's only to August so far, and the previous months as well as cover design, etc., are all still available to download. Some nice, free, kits coordinated to the months are there, too.
