How can I keep my tool bar in one line? When I open, it always shows two lines even though I have closed it with one line. I can drag it over and make one line, but it will default to two lines when I reopen.
I'm not sure but have you tried looking in preferences. Under interface there is a place to check remember palette locations. I haven't had that problem so don't know for sure that it will fix it but you might give that a try.
Also, make sure your Elements window is maximized. If it isn't your toolbar will automatically double so that all the tools are visible. Default is one row down the side.

Ok, let's define tool bar. (assuming PC here) Guest
tool bin---to make the tool bin one long line along the side, drag it by the teeny dots at the top of the bin left and up against the edge of the elements workspace--it will form one line; grab it by the teeny dots and pull it down and out---and it will float in the workspace in two rows.
tool bar---tools options bar across the top of the page doesn't usually display in a double row, just chops off part of the options for the tool if the screen resolution is set at 600x800 (for example) We've discussed how to change the screen resolution on these forums, but hop back in here and let us know if you don't know how. The tool that is easiest to judge whether you are seeing all of the options bar is the brush tool, because if the res is too low you can't see the "more options" icon.
Let us know if this helps.
