PSE 6 is taking a little getting used to... in 5 I could nudge objects and text with the arrow keys- that doesn't seem to work anymore-(very distressing). does anyone know what I am doing wrong? (or is this a change in version 6?)
Snap to grid is not checked. Thanks for your help.

I use CS3 so maybe it is different but you might check and see if it works if you click on the move tool first and then use the arrow keys.

Sherryva,

I've read of a bug in PSE 6.0 - as soon as you apply a layer style, the nudge tool stops working. I think the work around is to click the move tool, and then do a ctrl-T (to bring up the Transform tool) and then the arrows will work.

Trish-
Thank you so much- that worked- you have saved me countless hours!!
The program is so new Barnes and Noble doesn't even have a guide yet, and Adobe.com has no info on it. Should have gone to "the people who know" to begin with.

All I do is select the move tool and either highlight the layer or click the object on the screen that I want to move and then I can nudge using the arrow keys. Seems to me to a tad bit quicker than using the transform tool.

David,

If you apply a layer style, then chose the move tool and then select something then using the arrow keys won't work. Try it... you won't like it. I was able to reproduce this on my system, and adobe was as well.

Ah, I see what you mean. Hadn't tried that one yet ! I guess it's just one of those things that we'll get used to eventually.
