LOs won't go into organizer

I'm making a 22-page shower/wedding album for my friend's daughter. After successfully completing them, I noticed that 9 of the pages won't go into the organizer. I can open them in PSE5, but when I tried to save them again (even with a new name), all I get is the warning window:

There was a problem accessing the organizer catalog. It may be in use by another process, or a disk error occurred.

I shut down my computer completely, and restarted. Same thing. It wasn't just the most recent pages I completed. Some of them are in the organizer. I'm wondering if "Restore Catalog" would work. I don't want to restore an older version because of the 13 pages that are already in, plus 20+ photos I added yesterday.

Or is this one of those times I need to shut down the program, then click those 2 or 3 keys real quickly?

When this message was given to you from the editor, did you also notice that you couldn't open files from the organizer into the editor? There is a definite bug in version 5 that causes the organizer to become disconnected from the editor.

To fix the problem, when you open the catalog just be sure your finger is on the control key. A dialogue box will ask if you want to rebuild the catalog (NOT restore). Answer yes. If you have a big catalog, you should leave the room and not come back for a while. It will look like the program is not responding at 33% and 66% but do not quit the procedure....it is not finished yet so leave the room again. Eventually it will reconnect the organizer with the editor.

Esther, YOU ROCK! Thank you. It didn't even take very long...less than 30 seconds! Now....I need to write down your solution and put it in my 3-ring binder where I keep such stuff. I LOVE this forum. I will sleep better tonight.

Now you can use the organizer to find the LOs that didn't go into it. Just get photos and add them.

Glad you were able to recover within such a short time. My catalog has 27,000 images in it and it takes about an hour. This is why I changed to V6....however I decided to not convert the v5 catalog. Mainly because I wanted to interface with Premire 4, and was warned that those two packages didn't play together nicely if there were more than 10,000 in the catalog. Fooey!:(
