I'm a long time user of Elements and started using CS3 about a month ago and I love using both. I debated about using the PSE Organizer or Bridge to manage my photos. I've made myself try Bridge but I much prefer the Organizer. I'd like to use only the Organizer to manage photos and choose PSE6 or CS3 to edit the photos. The problem is that when you open a photo to edit in CS3 with the PSE6 Organizer, it automatically creates a Version Set with the photo.

Does anyone know if it is possible to stop the PSE6 Organizer from creating a Version Set automatically if you open a photo to edit in CS3 (through Organizer)?

I don't know. Sorry... Most people want a version set if they're editing a picture. If it is anywhere, it is under Edit->Preferences. A work around you could try, open CS3 and then just drag your images to CS3, and see if that still creates a version set.

Thank You so much Trish - dragging from the PSE6 Organizer into CS3 does not automatically created a version set. But if you use CTRL+H or 'Fix>Other Options>Edit with Photoshop' it automatically opens the file as a version set and renames it filename-edited-1.jpg.

Thanks again -- no version sets and simply dragging and dropping is easier besides!

Great! I'm glad that worked for you.
