I'm very confused at why I would want to TAG and do an album also in the organizer?? None of the little tagged items will show up in the editor.. For example I made up all these little tags last night, like one for blue paper, browns, clipart (christmas, etc... etc..) and those don't show up unless I first select them all and then in the editor click on selected items in the organizer. My head is spinning. I want to find a good EASY system of organizing my pics in the organizer because I want to use them for my scrapbook pages.
Right now on my computer when I get the pics off the camera I simply cut them and paste them into Folders
April and then inside april different dates with folders.
I can do that in the organizer too, I guess... but then what is the point of the tags??? I need to organize my scrapping stuff too.........
HELP! Please make suggestions or how do you do it????
I have PSelements 6 BTW!:)

Spring,
Welcome & don't panic - take a deep breath & relax! Tags are simple ways to label a picture, paper, or any scrapbooking element so that you can find it easier! They don't move from where you have stored them so you can always find them that way as well. If you labeled your brown paper with a "paper" tag you would be able to tell the organizer to show me all of my "paper" tagged items. Then you can find the one you want to scrap with and pull it into the editor. It is even better if you have a subcategory with color so that you can look at only the "brown" "paper" items when you know that is what you want to scrap with. I have over 15,500 items in my scrapbooking organizer (which doesn't include my photos!) If I didn't tag them I would use the same items over and over again. The more tags you create the faster you will be able to locate your files. Every now and then I have an item that just doesn't fit into one of my tags so I create a new tag! I hope that helps somewhat. And remember - scrapbooking should be fun!

Ok, thanks for that! Yes it should be fun and it is.... I would LOVE to show you some pages I've done. I just tried to upload to a gallery (my gallery) but it didn't... work, said it did but I don't see the page I uploaded. Can you help me there? Wow, 15,500 items! I would love to see a PRINT screen of your tags and how you have it all labled. HOw do you PULL it into the editor easily??? Thanks for the tips so far

Hi Spring!
I uploaded a snapshot of my organizer here (http://www.scrappersguide.com/forums/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=16153&cat=500&ppuser=832), but you probably won't be able to read everything. Since I have so many different tags they don't all fit, obviously, but the list shown at the top is edging and its subgroups (ie. chain, fabric, fiber, ribbon, stitching, etc.) and below that are elements and some of its subgroups (arrows, beads, bottlecaps, charms, hearts, flowers, etc.). You can see my tags on my photos on the left. The top middle photo has three different types of tags, an element tag for stickers, a theme tag of spring, a designer tag for Michele Shefveland and another designer tag as a subgroup of Michele Shefveland for the kit name. If I were working on a spring layout I would go to the tag list on the right and check the small box in front of my "spring" tag. Then all of the items that I tagged with "spring would be displayed in the organizer. I would select, while holding down the control key, all of the items I want to take to the editor and then click on the "Editor" drop down menu on the very top right of the screen and then click on "Full Edit" in that drop down menu. All of the items that I had selected would then open in the editor. If I want to come back and find pink paper I would uncheck "spring" and check the "12x12 paper" tag box and the tag I have for "pink". That would open all the files again and then just the pink papers that I have tagged. I can then once again select those that I want to take to the editor and send them there. While working on them in the editor make sure you don't change the original files or they will get overwritten with your changes. Always work in a new document and use "save as" when saving for the first time. PM me or respond here if you have more questions.
