Hi. I have been playing around with digital photo enhancing and unofficial scrapbooking for several years. I am mostly self-taught except for the great guys at my local Apple store. I love the "one to one" instruction that they offer. Anyway, since I am self taught, I have a problem purchasing tutorials because I'm never sure if I might know the subject matter already or would it be way over my head. Maybe I should stick to being self taught:confused:. Anyway, I am looking forward to learning from all of you. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Vicki ...
.. and welcome to Scrappers Guide :)
I am self taught too ... but I have also learned a lot from Linda's tutorials. She is an excellent teacher and I am sure that you would learn a lot from her too ... :)
Have you done a lot of scrapbooking >>

I haven't done as much as I would like. Nowadays, with digital cameras, I seem to be overwhelmed with all the pictures and I still need to go back and scan in 50 years worth of memories. It's seems like I will work on pictures for awhile, then there will be some life interuption, I stop awhile and then have to start over teaching myself. I do find that I do better if I try to do a scrapbook page a day, even if it's not great. The whole "layer" thing does require that you be able to walk and chew gum at the same time.:) Not always easy for me. I should practice, practice, practice.

This is the place for you to be. I have been self taught and done lots of reading. I have a whole shelf of PS books and everytime I get my coupons from the Borders web site,I head for the computer section of the store. With all that,Linda's tutorials are the best. You can watch exactly what she does as she does it. With many of the books, even when I tried to follow exactly step by step, sometimes the results weren't what I wanted. Never had that problem with Linda's tutorials-plus if you do have any questions the people here will bend over backwards to help you out.

Hi Vicki ...
Oh I was there a couple of years ago with all those photos to scan in ... I just started scanning and did half an hour a day until there were all done.
Then I gradually started to restore and enhance them all ... that took a while :D:D but I got there in the end.
then I found scrapbooking and the whole learning process started up again :)

Thanks Wendy. I'm glad that I'm not alone. Just curious, do you ever sleep? I am finding it harder and harder to fall asleep at night. I am constantly planning pages or reviewing lessons in my head. I also look for old pictures in my head. Talk about nonproductive!

Vicki,
Wendy is in the U.K. - but I also have my doubts about her sleep habits :) :) :)
I'm just glad she's around.

Thanks Trish. I think that means that Wendy is working now (about 10 PM her time) and I'm working now (about 1 PM my time). When I can't sleep tonight I will have to check and see if she's still working. How about yourself? Do you sleep? Maybe I should quit thinking about this. Maybe I will go and take a nap. :D

Hi Vicki ..
Its now 10pm here in the UK ... and I'm feeling tired tonight (I haven't been too well) so I am calling it a night and going to bed.
Normally I stay online until about 1pm .. but its an early night for me tonight :)

Oh, I sleep (3 kiddos see to that!)... I check things "in between". I home school my kids, so when they're taking a "break," I check the forums. I just like to keep up on things. It would be nice to get on with out any sleep.
