Hi everyone, I just joined the forum and as a new premier member enjoyed the April lesson. I have ordered Linda's CD on PSE 6 Scrapbooking but not received it yet. I have only been a member a few days.
I have done very little digital scrapbooking but do enjoy doing collages and montiques. I love using Elements and Corel Painter.
This seems the right place to come to learn digital scrapbooking, loved Linda's April lesson on embossing.
I am a little lost on the forum still, I posted my first page in the members gallery. I need to find out more what I am allowed to post in my gallery. Is it only scrapbook pages that are from kits from this site or can I post pages made using anything as long as the credits are posted.
I also need to know more about the 12 X 12 pages. My printer only does up to 8.5 x 11. Do you know of an easy way to resize the 12 x 12 kit paper besides croping? I like the 12 x 12 but would rather print out my own sheets.
I live in the Rio Grand Valley of Texas, about 60 miles from South Padre Island and 14 miles from Mexico. I am a retired and relocated Winter Texan from Ohio. I have children and grandchildren back in Ohio. Plus I travel a lot. So have lots of photos to work on.
I love the members gallery, some really wonderful work in there.

Hi Betty ..
... and welcome to Scrappers Guide :)
First thing is that anytime you need help then just ask and someone will try to help ...
You can post pages that are made using anything .. and most people do add credits but we do't allow clickable link to the kits used. Here is a little more info for you:
http://scrappersguide.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=9
What most of us do is make out pages at 12 x 12 then if we want to print them out we resize the finished page to something like 8 x 8. I do that using Image>Resize>Image size then I uncheck Resample Image and change the 12 inches to 8 inches.
Finally I save it with a new name and then print it out ..
Hope that helps a little :)

Hi Betty!
Welcome to Scrapper's Guide. We're glad to have you among our community! As Wendy said, you're welcome to post things to your Member Gallery, and they don't have to be strictly Scrapper's Guide, as long as you give credit. When you're posting to a theme-related gallery, like the Travel Album Gallery, for instance, we ask that you use that particular kit.
Sounds like you have a really full and busy life! I love Texas, and it sounds like your area is just beautiful. Now for my question: inquiring minds want to know-- what is a montique? Post one so we can take a look!
Once again, welcome to the Forum. Feel free to ask any questions you want, and you're welcome to email me anytime.

Thank you, Wendy. That is a simple solution to resizing the 12 x 12. I could use any size for a square under 8" and it should work. Neat, one of those why didn't I think of that things. I could use these for greeting cards etc., too.
Lots of net things to learn here.
I am thinking of making a new catalog in my organizer (PSE 6)to use for just scrapbooking things. I think a second catalog would work if I just choose to add items from the files that I have downloaded and saved in a folder named scapbooking in my documents. Then I can tag the things so I can easily find them. Do you know if I can set organizer to watch files for a separate catalogs and not put it all in both? I thought it would be a good time to start this when I am just starting to download scrapbook items.

Hi Betty ..
You are most welcome :)
Sadly I can't really help on the Organiser, I'm a Mac users and our version of Elements doesn't have it. Hopefully one of the Windows Users will be able to help on that one ...

Thank you all for your wonderful welcomes. Seems like such a nice group here.
Jan, I am sorry to say it was either a typo, my spelling or a senior moment but I ment to say montage not montique. I did post one in my gallery but I think you probably do know what that is. Just a combination of several photos. I do try to tell a story or at least a theme with both my montages and collages. That is why I think I will love digital scrapbooking.
Wendy, are you the same Wendy that has tutorials on elementsusers.com? If so I have enjoyed doing several of yours.
I did notice there is a thread for the Organizer on this forum, so I will try there for my questions regarding it. It can some times be confusing to me, altho I do enjoy using it.
Thanks again for all the nice "Welcome"s.
Lois, Where in Texas are you located?
I better get to work instead of just emailing or I never will get anything done.
