Hi All
can anyone enlighten me on the Wacom Tablet. I have asked for one for Xmas from my children.
Are they worth it do they do a good job
Are they easy to use ?
which one does the best job and any good recommendation Please.
I ask this as I'm trying to fix a few dodge phot's we took when the children where little. I'm no David Bailey.

Chris,
I love my Wacom tablet! I only have the Graphire 4x6, but it is has plenty room. Of course, I would love the one that has the computer screen right on the tablet, but that is not in my budget. :) I have had it since last Christmas.
I do not use it all the time, but for detail work, it is perfect, especially on dodge sections, like you mentioned. The other thing I love is that I can sign my name on it. If I were an artist and could draw, that would be a cool use for it too. You can use the pen like a mouse if you prefer and also it comes with a wireless mouse.
One of the reason I was convinced to get a tablet was because Linda :D talked so highly of them. She may even still have a page that talks about what to look for based on your needs, not sure where that page is anymore (try her homepage). She says that you really don't need anything larger than the 4x6 size.
Hope that helps,
Stacey

Chris,
I have had my tablet for a couple of months and would not be without it. I use the pen more than the mouse. I found that by trying to use the pen as much as possible I became more proficient more quickly. Like Stacey, I have a Graphire 4x6 and find it plenty big enough.

In the tools of the trade part of the forum, there is a large thread about Wacom tablets. Hope this helps.

I discovered the best way to become proficient with the pen was to put my mouse in the desk drawer & leave it there. Once you make the move to the Wacom, there's no turning back!

I bought the Graphire 4 on sale cheap at Best Buy about a month ago. (4X5) I had wanted the Intuos one in the same size, but am lefted handed. Read several articles from posters about the isses of the 4 x 5 Intuos and left handers. Emailed Wacom, to ask about it - they confirmed it. Didn't want to go to the next size to went the cheapy way. Figured since it was my first tablet it would be fine. Enjoy it very much.

Being left handed myself, I was wondering what the problem is with the 4x5 Intuos and left handedness?

Me, too. I'm left handed and have an older Intuos. I'd love to know the problems..... At this time I just moved my computer this morning and can't get it too work.
