Upgrading from PSE4 to PSE 6 Organizer HELP

I have been using PSE 6 for about a year now and I was previously using PSE4. I spend days organizing in PSE 4. Everything thing is nicely tagged. When I installed PSE 6 it didn't recognize any tagging I did previously in PSE 4 in the organizer. So my question is...how do I get PSE 6 to recognize the PSE 4 tags. All the photos and scrapbooking elements are in the organizer PSE 6 they just don't have their tags. I already did the file, catalog, convert and it said it was successfull.....not to me :)

Can anyone help me with this issue.....THANK YOU in advance

Is PSE 6.0 showing your tags that you created in PSE 4.0 on the right-hand side?

In PSE 4.0, you did a File->Catalog->Recover before having PSE 6.0 convert it?

You might try and go back to PSE 4.0 and do the Recover, and then let PSE 6.0 try to convert it again.

I have the new tags I created in PSE 6 on the right side but no tags from PSE 4 transferred over. I will try the recover and convert again. Thank you.

I it did work but now my question is can I combine the 2 catalogs into 1 so that I don't need to keep going into file, catalog and then opening a one or the other???

The best way to do that....

Go to your new files, and find all the stuff you added, and select them (do ctrl-click to select more than one), and then somewhere there is a "write tags to file" (however, this will NOT work for PNG and RAW files) option. Write the tags to your new files, and then import them into your just converted catalog.
