Now what? Using patterns

I'm sorry to be so dense. I loaded the patterns, thanks to Trish, but now how do I use them? How do I get them on to a layout? I use PSE 6.

Select an area, then do Edit->Fill and choose pattern.

Let me first say, I know nothing about PSE6, but for others that are using CS2/3/4 (I started with CS2 so I don't know when these began), here are a few other ways to use patterns in case you have the same question:

-Layer styles>Pattern Overlay (then select a pattern or load your new one)
-Layer style>Stroke>Fill Type Pattern (then select or load your new one)
-Pattern Stamp Tool (is behind the clone tool stamp). Look at the brush tool bar , select the brush and other options and you'll also see the pattern box. Select or load your pattern and brush away!
