I was doing a disk defrag on my computer C: drive, and happened to see my D: drive, recovery drive, had a red mark which showed it was almost full. I have never noticed this before. It could have had a red line all along and I didn't pay any attention.

I have Vista Home Premium. Can someone tell me what this "recovery" drive is. What happens when the recovery drive is full?

Didn't know where else to post this and figured someone in the know here could give me some info.

Thanks,
Marnie

The "recovery" drive is usually the original vista operating system. If you system restore back to "factory" defaults, it uses the recovery drive to rebuild the operating system.

You should have been instructed to make "Recover DVDs" (or CDs) in case of full hard drive failure.

Thanks, Trish. Yes, I have the recovery cd's. I just never noticed, before, the red line on the D drive and wondered what it was.

Thanks,
Marnie
