Where are my styles and effects??? PSE6

I learned about actions for the first time last week, and installed something called B&Big action....followed the step by step instructions to get it installed...everything went fine. Then I opened up me a picture to try out my new action, and walla....worked wonderfully! BUT.........................in the styles and effects pallette, no styles and effects any more....all that is there is the B&BIG action. I can still access the filter gallery, but the pallette option is GONE. I have looked at everything to find out what I did, but I don't know what happened. Can anybody help me? I'm going loopy and could use any ideas here. TIA!!

Hmmmm.... I've never heard of the program you installed. Maybe someone else on the Forum has.

You might end up having to reinstall Elements to get your styles and effects back.

Sounds like the Mediadatabase file needs to be rebuilt. (The B&B action is one from PanosFX, I believe.) If you start working in Elements before the Mediadatabase file is rebuilt, it will sometimes stop. I would quit elements, find the Mediadatabase file, and delete it. Start the editor, and then don't do anything for 15 to 20 minutes - give it plenty of time to rebuild all actions and effects.

the same thing happened to me. Poof...effects and styles are gone! A few dropped back in but no where near what was originally there. I'm running VISTA...and have PSE6.

Hi ...

As Trish said just do back and delete the Mediadatabase.db file again ... then restart Elements. Don't do anything else ... just wait whilst it rebuilds the database.

It should work OK after that :)
