Rotating elements causes white box to appear.

Hello - and happy New Year!
I hope someone can help me. I am out of probable solutions. Whenever I rotate a element (like a star) I have a white background appear within the bounding box when I click the check-mark. I have shut down the program, run computer cleanups on the registry and drive, and tried various other things. This is a new problem - have not had it happen before. I can't find anything in my books about this. Any ideas?

It sounds like (possibly), what you are getting is a smart frame. Are you dragging the element up from the photo bin to your layout? PSE automatically creates a "smart frame" when you do that for PSE 6 & 7.

Make sure you are in Cascase or Tile mode, and chose the move tool to drag the element from it's original document to your layout. Or, you can choose File->Place.

Thanks, Trish - you solved my problem! I just hadn't had that happen before. Guess I switched ways of adding elements without realizing it.
