View Full Version : Moving images ever so slightly

There are times when I would like to move my images just slightly and they always jump, like to the nearest grid. I have unchecked that box but they still move more than I would like at times and I can't get them where I want them. They still seem to jump to an edge. A long time ago I read how to get past that, but I can't remember it now. I use PSE 7. Thanks for any help. Karen

I don't have elements, so I'm probably no help....but do you have a transform tool? When I click control T in CS3, I get a box around my element....then all I have to do is NUDGE the element 1 pixel by using my arrow keys. If I want to move by 10 pixels, I hold down shift and press the arrow key. I can also select the MOVE tool and have auto select selected and just use the arrows to move the item I selected. If you don't have the move tool or the transform tool, you might just want to go to your help screen and type in NUDGE to see what comes up. Good luck.

You can nudge with the arrow keys in Elements too. :)

I know what you mean. Whenever you need to make a teensy adjustment, and the nudge tool takes it too far, just hold down the Alt key when you're moving it and you can really hone in on exactly the right spot.

Hope this helps!

i have this problem too- and I was going to say it was the Ctrl key that you hold down. Then I read Jan's post. I haven't actually opened PSE and tried it at this moment. But if the alt key doesn't work, try the ctrl key- one of them must!

Thanks to all of you. I knew there was a way, but I just couldn't remember. I have now printed this page and will stash it for future reference. Thanks again. I am sure these will work. Karen
