Hi all!
I subscribe to DS and I am a Premier Member. I may have missed something about this but I am curious as to why we can't save the videos that come in the e-zine sometimes
Thanks!

Sherry, I assume you mean the ones on how to use the layered templates and how to adjust to sizes other than 12x12. I watched them last night, and was glad they were still available today. Linda's filter videos can be saved. Maybe the others will just be available while the newsletter is available. ???

I was hoping to save the 2 extra videos too. They are great. I love video!! Makes learning so much easier for me! I will be making some notes for sure. Thanks again Linda.

Hi there,
After reading the posts about saving the extra video's I decided to try it and had no problem.
I had the video open, but not running, on my desktop and just went under file, save as, and gave them a name.
It worked for me! I use a Mac so I'm not sure if that could make a difference?

I use Windows and would also like to be able to save the videos, I do not have time to work on them at this point.

I use Windows with Vista and I guess I only have a regular version of QuickTime as it will only allow me to save the video if I buy QuickTime Pro. I will check further ...

For Windows QuickTime Pro is $29.99 ... not sure if Linda knew we would need another program to save or not?

Yeah, I would have like to save the two videos, but I also get the "have to buy Quick Time Pro".

The Mac must make the difference. I tried this several times and all it did was shut down my internet connection! Think I will just watch the video a few times so it is etched in the back of my brain!

I use Windows XP and I updated my Quicktime program to 7.6 and was able to save the videos okay on my computer. I don't use Quicktime Pro. I don't know if this will make a difference, but its worth a try.

I would also like to save the two videos, but I also get the "have to buy Quick Time Pro". I like to save all videos for future use. Is there is any plans in future to change this so we can save these good videos.

Purchased QuickTime Pro online for $29.99, then downloaded the code to unlock and BINGO, I could save the videos ... happy feet!!!
I know this is the same format as all the other movies but Linda "sends" those to us in zipped files. She may not be doing this type all the time but I bought the program anyway.

Hey, go over to this thread (http://scrappersguide.com/forums/showthread.php?p=35118#post35118). Look at post #17. You can download and save the videos using Real Player. This was the only way I was able to even view these two clips.

THANK YOU, Mariah...that worked beautifully!! What a great tip!!! (I have PSE6 with Vista, in case anyone else wants to try this.)
The layered template videos weren't created to be downloadable, however if you're a Premier member you'll have access to them anytime on your membership page. Or you can use the tip above to try and save them.

I found an add on for Mozilla (Download helper I think). I installed that and was able to save those files. It says it saves almost anything on a web page. However, I am having problems saving .flv files.

I have had problems in the past with the Quick Time videos if I wasn't current on the latest version. My computer also froze this time when I tried to view them. I may try to download the newest version of Quick Time before purchasing any other program. Thanks for all the input.

Its actually a lot easier on the Mac ... as they do save when you use Save As :)

I was able to download the template videos. Works with both XP and Vista. If you let the video load completely then right-click and select 'Save as Quicktime Movie' - you can save the using and resizing videos to disk.

I tried the Mozilla add-on and it didn't work. I wasn't able to use the right click "save as" as I don't have Quicktime Pro, only the free version. I did update Quicktime as one user suggested and the newest version still didn't allow me to download either the resize video nor the template video.
Finally, I want to thank Landorasue and Jsimpson who suggested the Real Player, as that worked!! Thank you!!!

I've read this on the Internet and that's why I didn't go and purchase the Pro version.

Hi Guys,
I watched the videos a couple of times, then printed off the pdf instructions. Hopefully, the printed guides will keep me on target when I actually get time to use them. Becky

Quicktime is a quirky little bugger. I had so much grief for so long, but now it's working. I have the free version of Quicktime with the update installed on my Windows XP PC and my tutorials work from the saved files without problem.
When I saved the files and unzipped them, they were readily available to view at will.
