With or without the normal $20 rebate?

Linda, usually if it is from Walmart, Sams, Costco, (and other discount stores) there is NO $20 rebate. Right now it is cheapest to order from amazon.

Actually the $20.00 rebate is only available to those who have certain versions of previous software. I found PSE 5.0 on Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-29230477-Photoshop-Elements-5-0/dp/B000HLV59W/sr=8-1/qid=1160863976/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-1063040-0552757?ie=UTF8) for $85.99 before the rebate. According to both Adobe and Amazon, the rebate form comes inside the box with the software, no matter where it's purchased. So unless I'm missing something Walmart and Sam's Club are the best offer so far (79.83 - 20 =WOW! 59.83). If I'm missing something please let me know! :-)

I bought mine at Costco and there is NOT a rebate inside. I didn't know it would matter where it was purchased. Bummer for me.:(

Hi tlcmom, CALL ADOBE! My whole mess started when I purchased the download version from Adobe and it wouldn't work. So I called the next day to "return" it and spent the next 1 1/2 hrs on the phone with avery nice girl who put me on hold for 5 to 10 minutes each time I answered a question regarding the return. During my long waits on hold I was able to surf the net and found where Amazon was the only place that said there was a rebate form in the box. I asked about it and this was the only thing the girl was certain of, there was a rebate form inside each box of the full version of software. But the rebate was only valid for those people who had a previous licensed version of qualifying software. My boxed version of the software should be here tomorrow. I'm very curious now if there will be a rebate form or not! -c-
I just happened to think - with the free shipping Amazon offers AND IF they are the only ones with the rebate form (?), they will beat Walmart now.

And you don't have to have a previous version of Elements to qualify for the rebate. It also includes Digital Image Pro, Picture It, Paint Shop Pro, etc.
If you have a question about which programs qualify for the rebate, pm me. I have the form right here.

Hi Linda, it's soooo cool you actually have the rebate form! Where did you buy your copy? Does your rebate form look like the one on Amazon? I'm beginning to think the kind folks at Adobe don't know their right hand from their left foot. Now I'm like REALLY curious what will some up in my box tomorrow... TY -c-

BestBuy has it advertised for 69.99 in this Sunday flyer... I just bought /4.0 in the last month, and can't decide if it is worth the upgrade.. Comments

I ran out to Best Buy today and purchased the software - and there is no rebate (and the box is coded at the bottom to not have a rebate). However, the cost is the same as if I downloaded it, got a $20 instant upgrade rebate, and $10 download credit - except I have the CD and manual - which you have to pay extra for on Adobe. As far as worth the upgrade - I started poking around and it is so cool - especially for beginner scrapbookers - because of the enhancements to the "create" projects. You can choose premade templates and a theme, and then it creates the layout for you - layers, strokes for mats (color matched to background paper), and dropshadows and all. Then if you don't like it (dropshadows look too much, or don't like the bevel), you can still go in and change it. Or maybe you don't like the background paper, you can pull in something else. But it gets you started, and then all you have to do is make some small changes - if you are so inclined. I can't wait to get started!!:D :D

I was in Best Buy today too, and picked up PSE 5.0 also. I don't get their weekly ads in the mail, so I was really surprised when it rang up $69.99! I'm still kinda bummed that I had to buy it so soon after getting v4 (just got it in May), but I didn't want to fall behind in what is "current" so I decided to take the plunge and get it anyway. This time maybe I'll feel like I got my money's worth before the next vesion comes out! lol. I am disappointed that there is no rebate in the package either, but you do get 10 free online training sessions with registration, so that is pretty cool! I just installed it and am looking forward to playing with it.

I too couldn't pass up $69.99. Even with tax and gas money for the round trip to pick it up and the shipping fee (from the Adobe copy on it's way), I'm still saving a good chunk of change in the long run. So when my 99.99 Adobe version shows up later today, I'll be on the web returning it. I called Adobe yesterday and asked if they price matched and was told no, so back their copy goes. :-( Too bad for them, Good for me! :-) -c-

Thanks for the heads up on BestBuy. On the Adobe website, I think, it states what stores have the rebate offers on the box. Staples was one. I went in today. I had seen it on line for $79. and change. It was not on the shelf, but the salesperson found it in the back and it was $89 something. I told him at BestBuy it was $69 and he said they price match. He called; it was that price; and he sold it to me for $69. and change and I have a $20.00 rebate coupon. Hope that helps.

I did not plan on getting a copy so soon. It was going on my Christmas list, but you know my anniversary is in less than two weeks I think (November 3), close enough. I didn't know when I would have another opportunity to get what I thought was a great price and a rebate. Now, I have to run through the threads and make sure I find all the comments about upgrading. I don't want to loose pictures or elements or anything. I don't think I will load it till this weekend but can't wait.

Just purchased PSE4 in February - just learned how to use it last month - I am SO TEMPTED to get the new version and SO BUMMED it was just upgraded while my present version hasn't even gotten "cold" yet.
But, I keep buying updated versions of all my creative software - I am always so eager to see what the new edition has to offer. I am seriously considering buying 5 - I saw it at Best Buy yesterday, and it didn't seem all that expensive.
Funny - while I was there - (the grand opening of a brand new Best Buy) - a girl was removing all the old versions of PSE4. I wonder what they were planning on doing with them?
But my real dillema (I can't spell that word) is whether I should just ask the kids to buy me the latest full blown version of Photoshop instead. They are always looking for something to buy me for Christmas - so this would be ideal.
Full version will probably be updated right after I get it - so the question is - full version that is old or newly updated PSE?
(Actually, when I purchased PSE4, I thought it was an upgrade of CS2 - I didn't knnow PSE4 was a more general, consumer friendly and cheaper version of the expensive Photoshop software. I had no idea Photoshop was so expensive, so the price didn't trigger any questions about whether the products were the same.)

I currently have PSE3, so I guess I should upgrade to 5! Something for Xmas or my anniversary is at the end of November. I'm confused, where should I get it? Should I just tell my husband to go to Adobe?

In my experience, buying from the company is almost always the most expensive.
Put Adobe Photoshope Elements 5.0 in your search and it will bring up all sorts of buying sources.
Staples has PSE5 on Sale this week for $79.99 - and you can get the upgrade rebate so the final cost would be $59.99! I don't think the price will get any lower than that.
