I recently switched from PE4 to Photoshop CS2. I remember seeing that you can draw a free form line in any curvy line that you want and then be able to type your text on top to follow the curve. I can't for the life of me remember where I saw this and can't seem to figure out how to do this on my own - please help!

Search for "Text on a Path" in the Forums. I know there were at least 2 threads about it.

You'll find tons of tuts on it here and on the internet. Just search for text on a path. You can take your pen tool (path checked) and draw a line, switch to your type tool, position your curser on the line, watch it change and start typing. You can type on the outside of shapes, the inside of shapes, draw a bounding box and type inside it. Have fun.

Hi Tracy ...

Here is one that explains it fairly simply:

http://www.graphic-design.com/Photoshop/type_on_circle/index.html

There are several effects covered and it goes on for quite a few pages :)

Adding to the rest in this thread. If you google for a tut like this, don't forget to put in photoshop in the search field, then you'll narrow the search a bit and be able to find out specifically what you are looking for. The ability to do paths in CS is just SO MUCH fun to play with, and when you're doing it--shoot for a Wacom tablet if you do a whole lot of it--it's hugely hard to draw a path for text with mousiepousie!
