Smooothing up edges on a picture

I used the the selection tool to extrac a person out of a photo and the egdes were a little jagged. I seem to remember seeing a video on how to clean up the edges. I have researched but can't seem to find anything. Could someone pleaese help. Thank you

One option is before you do the cut/copy is to do a "feather" to soften the edges. The other option is "Refine Edges," but I forget where that is located.

Another way is to select the eraser (with a soft brush) and gently run it around the edge of the person.
