View Full Version : Taper the end of a line

After I have drawn a line with either a pen or brush I want to taper the end of it to nothing.
I have worked out how to taper both ends, but I only want to taper one.
Does anyone know how I can do this?

I'm interested in this too. I have accomplished the effect by zooming in close and using the eraser tool, but all the time thinking there must be a better way.

Try using the line tool. Set the weight for a small number like 10 and use the drop down menu to set an arrowhead at the end with width set at 100%, length set at 1000% and concavity at 0%. Then draw your line until you see the segments are no longer getting smaller. Once you rasterize the line it will not be jagged. In order to draw a longer line you would need to adjust the starting pixel weight. Let me know how that goes!

Kelly! Thank you for the great tut. It worked beautifully. I'm going to print out your instructions and put them in my file drawer. (For PSE, the equivalent of rasterize, is Layer>Simplify Layer.)
