Hi
Ok I have started using Photoshop more and have to figure out the print issues I keep having. If I have a normal picture and tell it to print 4x6 borderless on an Epson 2200p. I should be able to print 12x12 actually a little bigger, but am afraid to try because of what issues I have had printing a simple 4x6.
In photoshop print I chose the paper and it tells me it must do some cropping... What am I doing wrong??
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Laura :D

I always get that with going from 4 to Epson. I do it the lame way - I open one of my other programs and after saving my project as a high end jpg, I copy it to the other program where I'm able to defeat the "buggers" who are trying to thwart my attempt.
I know, I know - it's very lame.

Well, I don't have an Epson to work around, but I find that when I tell Elements to print a certain size, it never does! I have a Dell 964, which prints borderless, but it doesn't from Elements. I end up importing to PrintShop which prints borderless, and print from there. It is not the ideal, however, because every time a make a revision of the layout, I have to reimport the new one to that software. It would be great to have a print interface in Elements that actually prints the size selected!

I have the Epson 2400 and my Photoshop Elements 4 gives me that message about cropping. I just ignore it without giving clicking OK.
So far, I haven't had any trouble.

I am not sure if this is what you are doing but sometimes I have to change from portrait to landscape or the other way around, kind of depends on what you are printing.

Thanks for all the responses; I have tried ignoring it and it crops a good portion of the picture. I will play with the landscape vs portrait but I think I tried that too :)

Hi, here's a suggestion. Go to the page-setup before you print, and shrink your output to 95%. That might do it.

All this print cropping stuff happens due to the aspect ratio of the original lay out size or the photo size, and the size of the desired print.. It took me about forever to get it understood, and of course I needed a lot of help along the way.
But I have it now.
What I do if it is a specific layout or montage I plan to print,I make it at that size to begin with. Then there is not problem.
Now in my humble opinion with all the technology there is today, the printer ought to just get it right.:)
I'm happy to share my learned knowledge for the picture re-sizing, as I've saved it from some experts over at PET.

I have struggled with this too.
Here's a helpful thread from the PET forum:

Thanks for the link. I have spent numerous hours cussing my printer and PSCS2 over this seemingly "simple" problem!!!

It sure can be frustrating, but when it clicks..it works great.

I have also "wrestled" with this! R340 & R2400 act exactly the same, therefore I believe it's an Epson problem. I always ignore the "cropping may occcur" warning because it usually doesn't! I have less of a headache if I use the print with preview option. That allows for a few more adjustments, then select "print borderless" BUT, that being said....I also cross my fingers & pray that prints, on expensive larger paper, turn out as I expect them to!

On my hp 2410 printer. If under printer in page setup I choose a size that is a borderless photo. There is an 81/2 X 11 borderless photo. Then if I make my page the exact same size, it works. BUT if I made a custom page size such as the envelope I am printing now, I have not been able to find a way to make it print borderless.
I am so glad to see this discussion. I am sure someone here will figure it out.
