I have recently discovered that since I switched to a mac I don't have the ability to work on my photos taken in RAW form before going to PSE9. When I take a photo from iphoto to PSE9 it immediately becomes a jpeg. I was able to work on the RAW photo on my pc before taking it into PSE9. Can someone please help me do the same with the mac - that I LOVE!

Hi Janet ...
Are the files in iPhoto Raw files ?
If so just drag and drop them onto your desktop and then open them in Elements :)

I open and edit my raw photos in elements. Works great.

I also have spent many frustrating hours trying to figure this out. Prior to switching to a Mac, I had PSE 6, and No Problem working with RAW. I do not recall that every picture I took before, was in RAW. I use iphoto for organization and PSE 9. opening in Editor.
Please Help.

Hi ...
When you import a Raw file into iPhoto it automatically makes a jpeg Preview of the shot. It does that because you can't do anything with Raw - can't print it, share it online, use it in other applications etc. So to allow you to use the file immediately the Preview is created.
You can access the original Raw at anytime: You need to export it: File -> Export: and set the Kind to Original

Thanks, Wendy, finally I was able to get my RAW photos
into Elements and adjust them before going into editing.
