View Full Version : printing problem - help please!
I'm using an epson 7800x to print an 8 1/2 x 11 picture. It prints fine until it gets to the very end, when it prints a streak of reddish color instead of the proper colors. It's something the printer is doing, not the picture, cause if I turn the picture around, the reddish stripe-y thing prints out on the opposite side. This is a landscape pic, so I'm talking about one of the 8 1/2 inch sides.
I've tried cleaning the print head. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Donna

How old is your printer?
Have you checked your ink level?
Have you checked with Epson online or called them? I had a problem with my old Epson, and called them, and while I paid for the call, that was it.

When was the last time you printed before that one? Sometimes I have to bite the bullet and install new ink cartridge...otherwise, I usually have to clean the print heads several times before the print their best.
It's not advised often, but you can use rubbing alcohol to clean VERY GENTLY clean the contact points. Use sparingly on a q-tip being careful not to leave lint behind. Again, I have done this as a last resort and it has worked...I can't make any promises though since it isn't really advised by the "professionals."
