Here is a globe I made with CS3 - I could not upload here at Scrappersguide so I put it on pixentral.

You know I’d really love to download the beta version of PSCS3, but with my limited knowledge of the program I wouldn’t know if the program had an error in it, or if as usual it was operator error. LOL :)

I hope all of you that are downloading the beta version, are learning enough to help those of us that will need that help when the marketable version comes out.

I’ve watched the videos that are out there on the NAPP site, and it looks really great. I’ve started putting my pennies in the cookie jar so I can buy it when the time comes, this will give me something to look forward to in the spring.

I wonder if it would be worthwhile to take the classes that they are offering even though you’re not going to download the beta version? The other thing I would like to know is, if anyone uses the Adobe suite? Are any of the programs useful for fixing your photos, and would a person use any of them for making things for scrapbooking?

You know, I don’t know why I’m even wondering about all these things, it’s not like I don’t have enough to learn as it is. I just have an overactive mind, and a great desire to do wonderful scrapbook pages But, I’m sure I’m not alone, guess that’s why all of us are here. LOL. he he he :D

Hi Jo ...

The only other one out of the Creative suite that I use is Illustrator ... and I tend to use it when I am creating things like curved chains.

With Illustrator I can make part of the chain and save it as a brush.

If I am then trying to make a curved chain in one of my images I can define the path in Photoshop, export it to Illustrator, Stroke the path in Illustrator and export the finished chain back into Photoshop. It sounds complicated but it really isn't. :)

Well I made a restore point and installed CS3 - Wow the bridge...unbelievable...and I found this site http://movielibrary.lynda.com/html/modPage.asp?ID=327&cid=photoshopsupport.com/ that has little quicktime movies of all the new features....loving it so far....tried printing with it, like that interface box....Definitely an upgrade must for me....So far no glitches....and I have both versions on my computer....it's a pretty big computer though with Windows Media and dual core processor....too scared of Vista at this point...maybe after it's been out for a couple of years. I'll let you know if I have any problems using it, but none so far.

June, I am scared of Vista also.
I find that CS3 loads faster.
I just jump in an do the simple things that I know how to do in CS2.
No problems so far.
I wish I had made a restore point like you did.

I just figured out my problem with uploading my bird globe. It was 12 X 12. I made it 6 X 6 and it uploaded fine. I sort of thought it was something I was doing wrong. Another learning experience.

Hi Franny ...

Glad that you managed to sort it out ... and what a beautiful Snowglobe :)

Does anyone know if CS3's bridge will allow tagging on .png files? That was my major GRRRRRRRRRRR with CS2. TY -c-

PNG format doesn't allow EXIF/IPTC info - you can't write tags into them.

How does the PSE Organizer do it? I can tag anything I want in Organizer and PSE is fine with it. Picasa and several other applications can tag .png files. I guess I don't understand the difference. :( TY -c-

I suspect that Bridge is actually trying to write the tags to the file, and since PNG's don't accept tags, it can't do it. I know Organizer does NOT write tags to files, unless you specifically say so, or under certain conditions (don't ask me which ones ;) ). Organizer, and probably Picassa, keeps a database that points to the files and keeps the tags in the database.

Ok - that makes sense - kinda. :) I guess that's the only real frustration I've ever had with CS2. I just couldn't figure out how for $100 I could tag my .pngs in the PSE Organizer but for $500 I couldn't. :( I really like using Bridge, to me it has a much better user interface than Explorer. I know CS2 is primarily made for photographers and graphic artists but with so many scrappers going digital you'd think they could add that database functionality. TY troush for your explanation! -c-

Franny,

Yep restore points can be life savers. I think your CS3 loads faster (as does mine) because it doesn't have all the extra shapes, gradients, brushes etc that are sitting in your CS2 files....it's sort of a clean slate without the clutter....at least I think that's why it loads faster....I have to spend some time, copying the files for shapes etc to CS3 but other than that, so far I like it....still watching all the movies, trying to get the most out of it that I can.
