Playing around in PS CS 2 and stitching. Seems to be going fairly well. Was wondering if anyone has played with this and has any tips.

Not sure I understand your question--pmg format? By stitching do you mean photomerge?

Or could you mean using a png?

Photomerge - like does anyone save it in layers, best ways to fix little color differences, etc. Did a couple this weekend and they turned out fairly well. Just wondering what others do.

Hi ...

The way I tend to use it is ..

First I try to match the images before I start ... using curves or levels.
Then once photomerge is completed I save it in layer

After that I copy the merged image and paste it into the file .. and work on that.

Uusually you find that you get diagonal lines in sky / sea areas and to deal with those I use the clone tool. If you set it at a low opacity and use a large brush then in blends the lines away perfectly :)

Wendy's way is good, and usually works quite well. (And, setting the bss on your camera to begin with on a series you want to stitch later is also important to try) I always save a photomerge in layers because then I can "level" them and move them around slightly after the photomerge has been created.

Also--PRISS TIP--A fun way to instantly create a layout is to use photomerge feature to place several different (and unrelated photos) onto a new document, then take it from there. I do this all the time, and you'll find that the way photomerge overlaps and blends the photos is just amazing!

Always save psd.

Hi Priss ...

What a great tip ... I never thought to try something like that :)

Yes, I had a few little issues with the clouds, so I can relate to that. My saving as layers didn't work that well the first few go arounds, so I did it the other way, but will go back and give that a try.

Priss the different photos sounds interesting. I'll have to give that a try this weekend. Never thought of that approach.

Thanks everyone!
