I just purchased a portable 120GB hard drive that Best Buy has on sale for my scrapping/photos. I'm so excited! Right now my photos are split between my tower PC and my laptop, which is a pain when I am trying to find photos to scrap. I'm hoping to move all of my digital photos from my tower to the portable drive. It is small enough to fit in my laptop case so I can take it with when we go camping and have ALL of my photos with me. Yeah!

You'll BE SO SO GLAD YOU DID! I have a Western Digital external 120 too, which is really my second drive for this laptop. I run ALL my pictures onto it immediately after I download them (sort of a real easy backup before I burn them to CD/DVD)

Do be sure, Jodi, that you correctly "stop" and disconnect it before you shutdown. The lappie won't like booting with it plugged in. :) (One of the IT's at the college warned me about that.)

Good for you. This will make your life a lot easier. Remember also to still make copies of your digital photos by cutting a DVD or CD.

Santa brought me an external hard drive, too and I love it! Got it from buy.com. It's a 250g Western digital. It's small, but not like some I've seen... not portable like you're talking about. Now I'm on the look out for a little one(1/2 the gigs would be ok) that would fit inside the case for a second back up and for taking places.
