OK I know we have talked about this before, BUT, I don't think anyone came up with a answer.

Does anyone have a really good tutorial for making string. I found a great one for rope but string is just killing me. Also how about making knots. Im tired of scanning things in, I really want to learn to Make them.

Thanks

Laura

I don't have one--I looked at photoshopcafe (http://photoshopcafe.com/tutorials.htm) and at planetphotoshop (http://www.planetphotoshop.com/category/tutorials/)

There's a set of "ribbon STYLES" at the Adobe Exchange and that might work for you Laura. (Go to adobe.com>communities>exchange>photoshop>and search for ribbons).

I think that a texture over a basic rounded/beveled brush stroke would give you string, (I'd go first with my fav--"Splat" --from alienskin.com) and use "resurface>leather>braided, and adjust the sliders to give you the depth and the distortion you want for "string," I've never personally tried to make any--always used scans or products I found on Linda's CD's.

Until then I like all the strings in Real Ribbons and (currently sold out Fifty Nifty Tags, Tassels and Ties) in the Scrappers Guide Store (http://scrappersguide.com/products_el.html) Maybe Linda tucked them into her soon-to-be-released Training CD too.

Hopes this helps and gives you a start on some places to investigate.

I already asked her if she sold a Commercial useage with the CD and she doesn't :(

I guess for now I'll keep on taking pictures and scaning. I really want to learn how to make them though so hopfully we'll be seeing a tutorial coming our way soon.

Hi ...

I did a tutorial for string a month or so ago and it is due to be posted this month on the PET site. If you are a subscriber there then it should be available within the next week or so ...

Just out of interest (being reasonably new at scrapbooking) could you post a link so that I can see what sort of knots you mean :)

Wendy :)
