Hello all, I love blend modes and beautiful brushes. Does anyone have any tips on working with blend modes and creating your own grunge brushes/ or other brushes that you can use in your LO? What techniques are being used to create these blends:using various layers, brushes, blend modes, filters, masks etc? Does anyone have some step by step info to get me started? I'm using CS2 primarily now adays.
Oops, I originally put this post in the Elements section. So if you see it twice that's why. I'm new to using a Forum. Smiles.

I have a small tip about using blend modes. I'm using photoshop 7, if that matters. Pick a blend mode and click on it, then use your up and down arrow keys to "try on" each blend mode easily. It really helps me to decide, especially when there are subtle differences between overlay and one of the light modes. Also photoshop help lists exactly how each blend mode affects a layer. It has good info to keep in mind. Some blend modes work better with white, etc.
hope that's helpful!

Thanks for the tip, Marcy! That's going to save me a lot of time. I use that method for choosing a font, but never thought about using it for a blend mode.
