I scanned in an object that has a bright glare. How would I remove that?

Rescan and try to cover the object lightly (I'm assuming it isn't a photo) with a piece of black cloth to block all light entering the scannerbed. Because there is absolutely no digital value to a light splash like that --there aren't any pixels to work with. (Same in a severe overexposed photos, sometimes pet's eyes, sometimes reflections off of glasses, etc) See if you can't get a better result if there's no light entering the scanner bed. Then if it IS the same it is terribly difficult to work with. I tried a concave shaped tin-type and just could NOT get it out at all--so I rescanned and tipped it a little bit so the splash wasn't right on the people's faces, and then cloned in surrounding pixels to cover the splash. Not exactly sure what kind of glare you have, but those are a couple of suggestions for scanned things that might help.

I had this problem with a whole album that I got from my Father. He "glued" all the photos onto the black scrapbook paper and on both sides of each page. It is a nightmare. The photos are all "wavy" and stiff.
I can't get the photos off of the pages at all - the glue must be the best stuff in the world. I have seriously thought of soaking each page in the bath tub. LOL
What I finially tried was using a piece of bubble wrap cut to the scanner window size. It has "small bubbles". Then I put in the whole page and tried scanning. I have to hold the scanner "top" firmly against the bubble wrap. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
