My son asked me to read something at his wedding. I couldn't find anything, so I wrote this poem. I want him to have a copy and thought a page in his scrapbook would be a good place for it. I'd like suggestions. What should I add/change whatever.

Text:
When I began
Scrapbooking your life—
a few years ago—
I discovered memories
tucked in old photos
reminding us
who you’ve always been
Big blue eyes
Charming personality
Creating opportunities for fun
“How many pictures can I be in?�
Always making friends
Never one to stay
inside the box
or march to another’s drum beat
In third grade you told Gramma Lienke
“I’m my own person.�

Always a unique perspective
My rule for pets—
Containerize them
Your answer?
“The house is a container.�
You still didn’t get a cat or a dog.
There were other disappointments—
a blue bike comes to mind

You continued to stretch, push, explore
Trying new ventures
Was it challenge, curiosity, creativity?
All of the above?
Your horizons broadened
Your hair changed
lengths and colors
I recall Gramma Olson liked the green.

Once enrolled at Stout,
Wisconsin became your home
Interning in Milwaukee closed the deal.
Even after your “retirement� trip
You returned to Milwaukee

And here you are
It was meant to be
Yahoo!
You met Casey
That you two are in love is obvious
You are wonderful together
She is your favorite Flower

Casey has brought tears to my eyes.
I can’t play Uno with you two without laughing until I cry.
You are fortunate to be joining such a wonderful family
And we are blessed to have Casey become part of ours

Now there’s a second scrapbook
one for the two of you
the first contains the Jason Casey fell in love with
the second adds to the original
You and Casey
more memories
I can’t wait to scrapbook.

It all makes sense to my son and me. Others understand parts. You had to be there.
