Journal says:
Assorted parts of the extended family always comes up in August. Each year is uniquely different while the rituals remain the same.
Always lots of fish; to catch, to eat, to swim with.
Always we play games, take 100’s of photos, enjoy the sun and the wildlife.
Almost always the electricity goes out; we just never when or for how long.



Aug 1- Austin got his yearly lesson in Texas hold-um and beat all the adults.
Aug 2- The pontoon motor died and was towed back with a kayak and Austin got a new video camera. Toast was grilled outside because of a 3 hour power outage.
Aug 5- Jenn got photos of a green heron catching and eating a frog.
Aug 5- We accidently gave both video cameras swimming lessons by tipping them off the rental pontoon.
Aug 8- New dock.
