Critique-Galena-Page-01

Help! This is the first page of a 38-page photo memory book I am putting together of a trip my high school girlfriends and I took (book is a gift for them). Most of the pages are done, I am now final touching them. The book will be 8-1/2x11. This page feels "off" to me and I can't put my finger on it. Any suggestions? Much appreciated!

Oh wow they are going to flip! I think is has a nice balance to it with your placement. Maybe the red border because there is no other red or other warm shade in the layout? If the rest of the book has red bordered pages though I don't think that will matter. Your book is going to be fantastic!

I agree with the comment above regarding the red. If it were my layout, I would play around with the two text lines at the bottom. Perhaps change the font and the size, but also the location. I'd try running it across the bottom, slightly below the lowest photo and starting on the left edge even with the left hand justified text - across to the right hand side lining it up with the outer edge of the leaf. Awesome page........what a wonder gift!

Oops! Thank you for the suggestions! I will work with the text on the bottom. I'm laughing, however, because I posted this and just now realized that the red lines were still there. They are actually my guides for placement that aren't part of the final page and I should have hidden them before I posted.

Love it! Only thing I'd change is to make that tiny journaling with the high school graduation date flush right instead of flush left.
