Default Adobe Bridge: Who loves it?

    Hello!
I've recently updated from Photoshop 6 to CS2. Whew...that was a long time coming! Anyway, I am in love with Adobe Bridge! Fabulous organizing all elements with labels, keywords, ratings. yes, I am in heaven. I've never used ACDSee, but I know that I would love that too. Since, it came with CS2, I think I will stick with it for a while. It sure beats Windows Explorer!

How do you use Bridge? I organize everything into 5 different labels (categories) and then rate elements with stars for different layouts that I do.
After completing a lo, I clear all ratings and start over agian with a new lo.

    Cheers!

    Hi Susan ...

I really like Bridge too ... but I don't really use the categories very much ..

I am a Mac user so I tend to use iPhoto for storing most of my things ....

I used it a lot. I actually have CS3 set to open Bridge up at the same time. I don't use the labels and ratings that often.

I work on RAW through it often. I also use it to look at my camera setings and such. I like like the way you can save the picture large or small, although now I think you can do that through VISTA also. I've never used any of the other organizational programs, so have nothing to compare it to.

Wouldn't be without it--it was a slow transitioning to me because I was so used to Windows Explorer filing. But because Bridge works with all the Adobe programs, esp Lightroom, I'm nuts about it, and follow NAPP guidlines for experimenting with it.

I really tried hard to love Bridge. I have CS2 and not being able to tag my PNG files drove me absolutely batty! Probably 50% of my scrapping stuff (if not a little more) is in PNG format. I have switched my cataloging and management to ACDSee 10 (which I do LOVE). If Adobe ever chooses to address this problem, I'd be first in line to give it another try. The only time I use bridge now is when I'm openning or saving files in CS2. -c-

    Carlalee,

Bridge probably writes tags/keywords right to the file. Most formats support this - png does not. That just means ACDSee (just like elements) is probably keeping those tags in a database, not in the file. Since png is a set format, it's not likely to change.

That's why I was hoping Adobe code address it programmatically, like ACDSee, Picasa, even PSE's Organizer. :-( -c-

Yes, not being able to attach a keyword to .png files has been a bummer. To get around the problem, I've done a decent job of labeling each file. So, when "finding" an item I simply look up the element needed by filename. (ribbons, overlay, frames, wordart...etc)
