Organizer - combining catalogs

I'm very frustrated because of the tags/catalogs that changed from upgrading from PSE 5 to 7. I have two catalogs now when I click File, Catalog. I've done the convert, but the old tags & organization didn't pull in from 5 into 7. It stayed a separate catalog. Is there a way to combine them now into one?

And if you don't use Organizer for your tags/digi elements/photos, what do you use?

Did you try to write the tag information to your files? I pse 5 and have found that it will not do it for png files, but does for psd and jpeg and a bunch of others. It's under the File option. THen when you pull them up into pse 7 it should have that tag associated with it. You may have to redo the whole catalog though. I'm not sure if it will recongize the tag on the file after you've imported it. But you will have to do the png files by yourself. I'm not sure why it will not do png files.

I'm also using the Bridge which came with CS4. I do like that too. It has all the features of the organizer in it, but also works like Window's explorer. Although it's only drawback is the backing up. I have not figured out how it does it, but I like how the organizer will add sessions to my disk. So for now, i'm doing both, but since the bridge will write all tag information to all files, I import in there first, then into organizer. Saves me tag time.
