A Wacom Tablet is a device that you attach to your computer and it comes with a special "pen". You can kind of equate it with a Etch-a-Sketch except that it attaches to the computer and you see what you write or draw on your computer screen instead of on the Tablet. A lot of people use it to create the doodles that are really popular right now and to put their own handwriting onto their pages.

As far as the smiley face I believe that what you are talking about can be found when you are in the process of posting. Before you hit Submit Reply or Preview Post there is a place right above that which says Post Icons and its default is no icon. You can change it to one of a number of things.
